Privatizing liquor won’t yield a pot of gold for the state budget: David Fillman

Pennsylvania confronts a $2 billion budget deficit that is a result of Gov. Tom Corbett’s failed policies, principally one-time budget fixes; and his unwillingness to support a statewide shale tax, Medicaid expansion or closing corporate tax loopholes.

Incredibly, some lawmakers and editorial writers are touting risky proposals to privatize the PLCB as a way out of this mess. This new push for a bad idea is surprising, given the factual record established in the last four years.
